Show Region 10 Spotlight Focuses On Beavers, Rabbits TEAM STANDINGS Parowan 6 1 .857 Beaver 5 3 .725 Delta 4 3 .571 Milford 3 4 .429 Millard 0 7 .000 In basketball games played last Friday in the Millard revision re-vision of Region 10 results were as had been predicted with beaver bea-ver completing its division play with a resounding 75 to 48 victory vic-tory over the Millard Eagles at Beaver, and Delta taking a 4S to 38 win over the Milfoid Tigers ' at Delta. Parowan, already the division champion, drew a bye. and Coach Dick Jones and his boys rested. The Beaver win assured thai team of at least a tie for second sec-ond place and with Delta's win over Milford all but dropped the Tigers from the race and put the Rabbits in a spot where they can go into a second pl'.e tie I with Beaver by winning from Millard at Fillmore Friday. Mil-ford's Mil-ford's only spark of hope is for that team to beat Parowan tomorrow to-morrow night and for Delta to drop Its game to Millard. If this happens Delta and Milford would be tied for third but do no damage to Parowan's tourna. ment berth. The Delta Millard game is a very important one for Delta, because be-cause by winning and tying Beaver, Bea-ver, those two teams would eith. er have to play a game or flip to see who finishes in second place and thus becomes the host team for the Region 10 playoff between the second and third place outfits out-fits in the region. The winner of this playoff will be the third region re-gion 10 team in the state Class B tournament. It is fairly certain that Delia and Beaver will represent the Millard Division in the play-off with Hurricane and either Dixie or Cedar as the Dixie Division renrescntatives. And peitlnu this playoff on the home floor will pr.T'c advntageous to one of the northern teams. In the final league game for Parowan and Milford, these two teams tangle at Milford, and as stated above, by winning, Milford Mil-ford can keep a spark cf hope alive for a tie for third place. A loss for Parowan wouldn't hurt anything but its standing In the division race. With the division title sewed up Parowan is looking forward to Saturday night of the Region playoff when it will meet the winner of the Dixie Division for the Region 10 championship. |
