Show Jr. M-Men to Meet At Cedar City For Region Tourney The Cedar Stake will host on March 6, 7, 8 and 9 the Region II Junior M-Men baketL&U tournament, tour-nament, according to Gordon Jones, stake athletic director. Ten teams will participate in the four-night tournament from eight stakes. Winner will win! the right to represent the division in the Junior M-Men all-church tournament to be staged at Logan Lo-gan later this month. Two teams have been entered from the Cedar Stake, Jones said. First place entry will be the Cedar Ce-dar First who played through the regular season here undefeated. unde-feated. Entered as the stake's second team will be the Cedar Second Ward. j St. George Stake will also send two representatives to the tournament tour-nament to complete the 10-team: listings. Other stake champions ineiuae, Parowan, Lake Mead,! Zion Park, Kanab, Las Vegas,' and Beaver. 1 Four games are on docket for the opening round with two teams drawing byes into the' second round. Bying will be Lake Mead and Las Vegas: stakes. The tournament will be played play-ed in the Cedar City High School gymnasium and the Cedar First will open the touiney at 5 p. m. Wednesday, Mar. 6 against the Parowan Second, winner in that stake. At 6:15 Zion Park will meet St. George One; at 7 will be Cedar Second vs. Kanab an 1 the night cap will pit Beaver against St. George No. 2 team. The tournament has been divided di-vided into a consolation and championship bracket; however, the winner must play through the four days undefeated to win. I |
