Show CSU Athletic Dept. n ; n i nwcuis niiivai 0i Squad Members Head football coach Bruce Osborne Os-borne has issued his call foi players to begin activities ai College of Southern Utah on Monday, Mon-day, Aug. 31. Coach Osborne is beginning his sixth season as head mentor at the Cedar Cit Institution. Players will report on Aug. 31 and be assigned to dormitory housing on that dav. On Sept. 1 physicals will be given at 9 a. m and suits will be Issued to all candidates. First practice is set for 5 p. m. and will continue twlce-a-day, 7 a. m. and 5 p. m until school begins. Press pictures will be taken ol all boys on Tuesday and a number num-ber of activities have been planned plan-ned by CSU and community organizations or-ganizations to welcome the bovi to the campus and Cedar City. The annual Blue-White Intra-squad Intra-squad game will be played on Friday, Sept. 11 at 7:30 p. m The first competition of the fall season will be a tough Chaffey College team from Ontario, Calif. This game will be played In the Bronco Stadium Saturday, Sept 19 at 8 p. m. Coach Osborne Issued an Invitation Invi-tation to all Interested boys to try out for the team. Last year, of the 37 squad members out for football, 27 boys made their letters. let-ters. Coach reported that CSU plays one of the toughest and most Interesting schedules In Its history this year. "We are aiming aim-ing for some top national competition com-petition with our athletic programs pro-grams at CSU," Osborne said. In addition to the rough ICAC competition, com-petition, the Broncos will face non-league foes In games at Riv. erslde, Calif.; Trinidad, Colo., and Phoenix, Ariz. |
