Show Radio Station Sale To Salt Lake Company Announced Granite Broadcasting Firm Plans General Strengthening KSUB announces that a contract con-tract has been entered into for the sale of KSUB by Bee Hive Telecasting Corporation in Provo to the Granite District Radio Broadcasting Comrv.ny, a Utah corporation. This contract Is, of course, subject to FCC approval. Under the contract. Granite Broadcasting will purchase 9Src of the KSUB stock. The Granite Broadcasting Company Com-pany is headed by Howard Johnson, John-son, president; Gage R. Anderson, Ander-son, secretary, and L. John Miner, treasurer. They own, manage and operate radio and TV stations in Idaho, Utah and Nevada. This group is also the same one that helped John Rowberry and other Iron County citizens in first bringing television to Cedar City and they are quite familiar with the problems and activities of this area. They plan no changes in either personnel or policy at present and hope to improve public service serv-ice activities and to serve all organizations or-ganizations of this area. There will be efforts made to strengthen strength-en KSUB in all departments and network service will be continued. continu-ed. Also, there will be efforts made to Improve national, regional reg-ional and local news service and there will be strong emphasis on sports. Current personnel at KSUB will remain in their present positions. po-sitions. Donald Cartwrlght, with KSUB since 1951, will serve as station manager; Richard Gunn, also with KSUB since 1951, is the chief engineer and farm director; Jay Monson will serve as chief announcer and news and sports director; Jim Roddy will continue contin-ue as the night flyer and help In the copy department and with sales; Kay Heppler works in the sales department and as women's director; Evelyn Sorensen is traffic traf-fic director; Bill Hickman serves as announcer and works in the copy department; Celestia Ash-down Ash-down is KSUB secretary and also al-so helps with bookkeeping, and Tony Lambert and Clark Ron-now Ron-now work as announcers. |
