Show Cedar City Holds Special Yelcome For Jackie Winterrose. "Miss Utah" Miss Jackie Winterrose , Miss Utah for 1900, was honored in Cedar Ce-dar City Friday with the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce promoting pro-moting a special Miss Utah Day. Jackie, native of Cedar City and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Banquet Speaker Speaker for the banquet was Senator Charles R. Hunter, who has also been a lifelong neighbor of the Winterroses. The Senator complimented Jackie on her resourcefulness and for making the most of the opportunities op-portunities which presented themselves to her. He credited the eagerness and happiness of her "Swedish" inherited blue eyes for the captlveness of a winning smile and sincerety of purpose. In response to the remarks Miss Utah gave way to tears of happiness and expressed her deep love for southern Utah, the people of Cedar City and paid tribute especially to her mother and father. Of her mother she stated that she believed her to be an angel on earth and her nearness to her father brought laughter to the eyes of the audience aud-ience that were previously filled with tears when sht reminisced by saying "I remember when I used to jump In the hearse with Dad to go to a funeral, and I enjoyed en-joyed every minute of it" Lounge Social Following the banquet the Business and Professional Women's Wo-men's Club and the Jaycee-Ettes hosted an afternoon tea at the Library Lounge of the College of Southern Utah, another outstanding outstand-ing event of the day.
