The occasion occa-sion was Mr. Hammond's 79th birthday. Mrs. Foremaster had her grandson, Merlin Pearce of Las Vegas, Nev., with her. Also visiting the Hammond family on Sunday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thorley and son, Max Thorley, all of Cedar City. Mrs. Esta Taylor has been here for the past month visiting with the Hammonds. Mr. and Mrs. John Whippel of Nevada have been here this week visiting Mr. aril Mvs. A. F. Ma-this. Ma-this. Mr. and Mrs. Lund Prince and family of Las Vegas, Nev., visited here Tuesday with Mrs. Nancy Prince. Miss Verlene Kelsey has been In St. George visiting her cousin, Miss Kay Lynn Wilkinson. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Morris of Cedar City visited here Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Grant. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Neilson accompanied ac-companied Mrs. Shirley Duncan to Blackfoot, Idaho for several days visit with Mr. and Mrs. John Orulian and family. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Ashdown and family and Mrs. Minnie Anderson An-derson of Cedar City visited here Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Darce Prince. Mrs. Fayone Whitehead and children of Henderson, Nev., are here for a three-week vacation. Mrs. Iva Harrison and daughters daugh-ters Lydia and Marsha of Newcastle, New-castle, visited here Monday with Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Pace. Mrs. Sylvia Pace and daughter Jean and Kay Dawn, and Gaye Slaymaker, spent the week end In Salt Lake City on business. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ramage and son Johnny, left Thursday for Tremonton, Utah where Tom will teach school. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Dostalck attended at-tended the county fair in Hurricane Hurri-cane Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Dostalek were honored guests at a party given for them Friday evening in the ward recreation hall. The party was given under the direction direc-tion of the D U P with Mrs. Viola Kelsey, president, in charge. A nice program was presented after af-ter which Mrs. Kelsey presented the Dostaleks with a gift from the members of the town, then refreshments were served. The DUP and Priesthood members mem-bers erected a monument on the church square Saturday. The Boy Scouts and their leader lead-er Clyde Hunt, went on a camping camp-ing trip to Pinevalley Friday and Saturday. They went to Veyo to Swim one day and spent the rest of the time fishing at Pinevalley. Sunday School officers and teachers attending leadership meeting in Cedar City Sunday afternoon were Supt. Eldon L Schmutz, Eva B. Schmutz, Ether Wood, Venice Prince, Gerald Prince, Claudine Prince, Sylvia Hall and Vilo Pearce. Tom Pearce spent the week end home from Modena where he has employment. Mrs. Lenora B. Kelsey has returned re-turned home from Las Vegas where she has been working this summer. Boyd A. Pace spent the week end home from Grand Canyon. Jesse D. Prisbrey spent the week end home from Salt Lake City. Mrs. Cecile Terry and children of Palo Alto, Calif., returned to their home Tuesday after spending spend-ing a week here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Andrew G. Schmutz.
