The purpose of that meeting meet-ing was to outline the yearly program and to answer questions that patrons had concerning the class program. Over 350 parents par-ents attended these meetings, some parents having more than one child in school, attended several of the meetings. ' It is hoped that through such individual conferences and meet-Ing meet-Ing j, parents and teachers may -dded ir.Hijjht !nt the child's school life, and better prepare him or her for the school future. These conferences, to a large degree, are replacing the written report card which, oftinmes was not an adequate representation of the child's pro-gress pro-gress in the elementary school. Later in the school year written reports will be sent home, and another individual conference is anticipated for next spring. The school officials urge parents to come into school and to get a first hand picture of the school activities so as to more ade quately participate in individual and school onferences. |
