Show Cedar City Girl Wins Top Honors In Sewing Contest Miss Betty Jo Bauer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Waldorf Bauer, Cedar City, won first place In the Southern Utah "Make It Yourself with Wool" sewing contest con-test held In Cedar City Wednes-dty Wednes-dty evening, and will be entered enter-ed In the state contest to be held in Salt Lake City on Jan. 2. The state winner in turn will represent repre-sent Utah In the National Contest. Con-test. Miss Bauer won first place In the Junior Division with a wool dress she had made for the occasion. oc-casion. Miss Georgia Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, Milford, won second place with a wool dress and received a beautiful Sewing Caddie as an award for her efforts. A sub-teen contest was held for the first time, with Bobette Bauer, daughter of Mrs. Aureiiu Bauer, Cedar City, winning first place, and Marilyn Moore, Mil-ford, Mil-ford, gaining second place honors. hon-ors. The officers of the auxllinrv announce that the contest has been placed on the approved list of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, a denartment of the National Education Edu-cation Association, for 1956-57. This means that the contest has been listed as an approved education ed-ucation program and sent to every secondary school in the United States. |
