Show Bloodmobile Gets 15 Pints for New Low At the visit of the Red Cross bloodmobile last Thursday only 15 pints of blood was taken, by far the lowest amount taken on any visit here in the past. Or. past visits anywhere from a low of 60 pints to a high of 105 pints have been taken. Such a showing show-ing may be attributed to several' sev-eral' things, however. In the first place, the hours the bloodmobile was set up were not conducive to a good turnout moil aaa.w sjnou. auj, "sjouop jo 1:30 to 5:30, when many of the eligible donors were out on lobs and unable to get to the blood center. Then, many of the persons per-sons contacted to give blood and who promised to come, failed to report at the center. And again quite a number who did report were turned down as donors for one reason or another. Mario Topham, who was in charge of preparations for the bloodmobile visit, reports that the visiting personnel didn't feel bad about the take here, as the amount of blood gathered on the visit to the southern Utah area was very satisfactory. In commenting on the hours the unit was set up here, the ones in charge stated that it was Just our turn to take those hours and nothing could be done about it. But, the visit showed that a concentrated effort will have to be made to get more pledges of blood for future visits vis-its of the bloodmobile and that those who haven't given blood before should get in on the program. |
