Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING After an automobile trip to Denver, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jo-seph Stapley and daughter Teresa Ter-esa Ann visited in Cedar City with Mrs. Stapley's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Stephenson and in Summit with Mr. Stapley's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stapley. Stap-ley. Their stay in Denver was enjoyed by Lt. and Mrs. Ray Stephenson and two srr;s. After ten days of visiting with family and friends in Cedar City, the young couple and daughter returned re-turned to Salt Lake City where they reside. Pinochle was played at the home of Mrs. Ned Sargent as she entertained members of the La-ohoabey La-ohoabey club. Joining the members mem-bers as special guests were Jean Rasmussen and Elinor White. High score prizes for the evening were won by Yvonne Bulloch, Elinor White and Pauline Cox. Light refreshments were served. Yellowstone National Park and the points of interest going and coming were recently on the vacation va-cation agenda for Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Endsley and Dr. and Mrs. M. F. Burgess. Leaving on Saturday to begin their vacation, Mr. and Mrs. Fred LaFrentz will travel to Ely, Nevada, where they will stay to enjoy the Nevada City and the surrounding area. Mr. and Mrs. John Crabtree and family will spend the latter part of tu week in Salt Lake City. While there they will attend two family reunions and visit with their friends. Couple pinochle was played at the home of Grant Tucker on Saturday evening. Featured in the earlier part of the evening was a delicious ham buffet dinner. din-ner. Mr. and Mrs. Tucker invited Mr. and Mrs. Elton Stratton, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Keetch, Mr. and Mrs. Whitney Jensen and Mr. and Mrs. Robert White to Join with members for the evening's game. The novel , prizes for high scores were awarded to Mr. and Mrs. Max Reichsteig and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Keetch. Visiting in Cedar City before traveling to Sacramento, Calif, to make a new home are Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bosanko (Yvonne Sherratt). Sher-ratt). Mr. Basanko recently grad-uated grad-uated in the field of engineering from San Diego State College and will now be employed by the Corps of Engineers in the state capitol. Until recently the couple have made their home in Vista, California. Fred Kitchen was the guest of honor Saturday evening at a farewell get-together at the home of Leon Nelson. The Sunday School class members directed by Douglas Bonzo enjoyed a chicken chick-en fry with all of the trimings. Miss Joan Nelson served as co-hostess co-hostess for the occasion. Mr. Kitchen will serve an LDS mis-sin mis-sin in Western Canada. Mr. and Mrs. Orson Haight returned re-turned this week from a tour which took them to the East. Joining the pioneer plane BYU Historical tour, the Cedar City couple were among 80 tour members mem-bers to fly to New York on the first lap of their eight-day sightseeing sight-seeing trip. They were delighted with side-trips by bus which took them to all of the historical points of interest in New York, Washington, D. C. and other points. Highlight of the tour wa their ai.wndance a the presentation presenta-tion of the Hill Cumorah Pageant which played to a record crowd. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Marsden were hosts the past week to Mr. and Mrs. Curtis (Eleen) White and daughter Marie of Norwalk, California. The visit was the first in several years for the Califor-lans Califor-lans and was enjoyed by all. Before Be-fore returning to their home on Tuesday, several days were spent with relatives and friends . in Salt Lake City. |
