Show NEWS NOTES FROM PARAGON AH By Hilma Lamoieaux Mrs. Wllma Lamoreaux presented pre-sented 14 of her piano students in a recital held Friday evening. Several out-of-town people, in addition to a crowd of parents and other relatives and friends, were present to enjoy the program pro-gram of varied selections. I Among those who performed were Claudia Jones, Tom Jones, Vickl Lee Robinson, Larae Lamoreaux, Lam-oreaux, Barbara Stones, Judy Talbot, Tal-bot, Pauline Topham, Mina Lamoreaux Lam-oreaux and the following students stud-ents from Parowan: Kathy Miller, Gay Lynn Benson, Mrs. Carol Farnsworth and daughter Marie, and Mrs. Dott Smith. Mrs. Lamoreaux Lam-oreaux also played a selection and an appropriate reading was given by Vickl Lee Robinson. Mr. and Mr3. H. Revere Robinson Robin-son traveled to Spring City last week to attend funeral services for Idella's aunt, Mrs. Myrtle Jensen. Jen-sen. The funeral was held Thursday. Thurs-day. Mrs. Donna Jolley of Cedar City and Miss Nancy Robinson of Parowan made the trip. Tom Abbott was here from Murray for a week end visit with his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Abbott. The Misses Su.-.an and Carla1 Jo Mitchell of Cedar City were week end guests with their grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. Amasa Stones. ' Mr. and Mrs. Marion Engle- j stead are here fr-rn St. George to visit with the Howard Jones for a time while the temple Is closed. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lamoreaux and daughter Mina and Mrs. Hannah Robinson and Miss Ada Robinson, enjoyed a vacation trip to Grand Canyon last week. They also visited briefly with Mrs. Robinson's sister, Mrs. Mary Little at her ranch home. Mrs. Anna R. Williamson re-turned re-turned home recently after an extended ex-tended visit with her daughter, Mrs. May Sant of Preston, Idaho and a stay in Provo with son Alfred Al-fred and another daughter, Mrs. Lareta Abbott. She also spent some time in Orem with her bro-ther-ln-law and sister, Mr. and Kirs. Sam Johnson. Miss VleAnn Williamson is home again after attending special spe-cial summer speech school in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Bertha S. Topham is happy hap-py to have family members visiting vis-iting with her this week. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Smith and daughter Helen arrived here Friday after visiting in northern Utah for a time. After a few more days here they will return to their home In Phoenix, Ariz. On Sunday the Ray Berrie family fam-ily came from Kearns for a visit and to get the two Berries boys who have been visiting here. On Monday Clinton Smith and son Steven of Beaver, Joined the group here. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Topham are home again following a week 'end trin to Glen Canyon and Grand Canyon. They were accompanied accom-panied by the Humbert Rosenbergs Rosen-bergs of Cedar City. Clinton and Leslie Topham visited in Parowan Paro-wan with the Gordon Farnsworth family during their parents' absence. ab-sence. Mrs. Elizabeth Maxwell celebrated cele-brated her 88tn birthday quietly quiet-ly at ': 7. A number of members of her family came to spent the day with her and friends also called. Mr. and Mrs. Merle Gibson and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Maxwell and daughter Patsy, came from Cedar City. Mrs. Mil-ford Mil-ford Hollowood was here from Enterprise. Grandsons, Dale Ho-lyoak Ho-lyoak of Salt Lake City and Jim Maxwell of Gkndale and the lat-ter's lat-ter's wife, were among those present. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Wil-son Lund and Daughter Gayle, and Mrs. Elizabeth Maxwell traveled trav-eled to Duck Creek to attend a family reunion of Mrs. Maxwell's people. There were about 100 Anderson An-derson family descendants present pres-ent The Lunds were accompanied accompan-ied bv Mrs. Bettv Smith and chil dren of Parowan. Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Davenport, and the Clark Lamoreaux and Victor Robinson families traveled to Red Canyon on Saturday to attend a Sevy reunion. Robinson Rob-inson and three of their children are now on a vacation trip to Kanab and the Glen Canyon area. Their son Val, Is in Kearns for a visit with the Cal Smith family. Mrs. Miriam Anderson arrived home Friday after a ten-day visit vis-it in Kanab with the Jimmy Anderson An-derson family. Kenny Topham was home from his employment at Grand Canyon Can-yon last week end. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Lister were week end visitors to Salt Lake City to see relatives and bring their daughter Sara, home following fol-lowing ti utay theie. A number of townspeople attended at-tended the Farm Bureau family outing held at the Five Mile recreation rec-reation grounds on Saturday evening. eve-ning. Mrs. Rowena Stones arrived home on Sunday after several weeks in a Provo hospital for treatment. Mrs. Janet Jones and her three little daughters were down from Salt Lake City last week visiting visit-ing with relatives here and in Parowan. Her husband, Melvyn Jones, was out of the state for j the week. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lamoreaux spent considerable time in Cedar City during the past two weeks, assisting in the care of their small grandson Gordon Morten-sen, Morten-sen, who was hospitalized for 12 days for treatment for diarrhea diar-rhea and anemia. A blood transfusion trans-fusion and intravenious feeding were necessary before the illness was checked. The baby was released re-leased frcm the hospital last Wednesday aiid is making a satisfactory sat-isfactory recovery. Mrs. Eva Beard of Milford and Mrs. Isa Prothero of Parowan were in town on Sunday to spend the day with the Amasa Stones family and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Terry and their little daughters are home again after a ten-day trip which took them first to Salt Lake City Ci-ty for a visit with Mr. Terry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Terry. After a few days there the group traveled to the Seattle, Seat-tle, Wash., area to v'U relatives and then toured the coast on the return trip. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Wood and two children of Salt Lake City were-week end visitors In Para-gonah Para-gonah following a trip to the southern Utah parks. They were guests of the Kay Lamoreaux family and also visited with other oth-er relatives. |
