Show Co. Fair Board Announces Time Schedule A progress report meeting cj the Iron County Fair Board in Parowan Monday evening indicated indi-cated that plans for the coming celebration are rapidly rolling toward to-ward completion. The three-day meet will be held in Parowan traditionally tra-ditionally on the Labor Day week nd. Extensive exhibits of Items made and grown by county residents resi-dents will be shown in the Parowan Paro-wan High School gymnasium all three days. Hundreds of dollars in cash prizes will be given for top exhibits ex-hibits in many divisions of home-making; home-making; in arts, crafts and hobbles; hob-bles; in flowers and house plants, in crops, fruits, and gardens, and In 4-H Club work. Dates for entering exhibits are as follows: All 4-H club work and art exhibits must be registered on Wednesday, Sept 2. All home-making home-making exhibits, crafts and hobbles hob-bles must be entered on Thursday, Thurs-day, Sept. 3 All crops, fruit, and garden products as well as flowers flow-ers must be entered on Saturday morning, Sept. 5. Judging cf all 4-H club entries as well as the club Judging and demonstrations will take place on the Thursday preceding the fair, according to Mabel Merrell, the county home demonstration agent. Homemaking and arts, crafts and hobbies entries will be Judged Friday. Sept. 4. The Iron Rangers, Cedar City riding club, will stage an amateur ama-teur rodeo at the Parowan City arena on both Saturday and Monday afternoons. Interspersed horse races will be In charge of members of the Tarowan Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce during both programs, according to Otto Fife, chairman of the entertainment committee. Mr. Fife also announces an-nounces that there will be public dances held both evenings. He also assures the residents and fair visitors a top flight fight card for Monday evening which will be staged on a portable arena are-na to be set up at the city race and rodeo grounds. Other entertainment features include a carnival and rtdes to be set up on the corner of Main and Center Streets In Parowan; the Parowan High School alumni reunion re-union at the Five Mile Saturday at 5 p. m.; the County Farm Bureau Bu-reau Talent Find in the school auditorium Saturday evening. The 4 H Club Style dreaa review will be held In the school building build-ing following the races Monday. |
