Show Las Vegas Helldorado Honors Won By CSU Sponsor Corp A handsome new trophy was added to the showcase at College Col-lege of Southern Utah this week. The group of snappy Sponsor Corps members of the Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps was selected as the top precision marching group in the annual Helldorado Days held in Las Vegas. Major Robert Boal, commanding command-ing officer of the CSU unit and two corps members, Judy Lunt and Clyda Porter, both of Cedar City accepted the award from the Las Vegas Elks Lodge, sponsors spon-sors of the event Over 80 units participated In the parade according ac-cording to the Elks. The Sponsor Corps at CSU Is composed of 30 girls who are cops In personality and campus activity, according to Major Boal. Each girl makes application for the unit and then they must be approved. The girls were led by two officers of-ficers this year Major Patricia Urle, Parowan and Captain Doris Okorlund, Loa. Drill Masters from the AFROTC were Lane Ronnow and Lee Sherrritt, Cedar City. All of the precision drills used by the girls were prepared by corps members Jeanette Roc-co, Roc-co, Camden, New Jersory. |
