Show Cedar Elks to Sponsor Scholarship Program Cedar City Elks Lodge in cooperation co-operation with the Elks National Foundation will begin a search this month for the "most valuable valua-ble students," in graduating high school classes and worthy college students in the southern south-ern Utah area. Students selected will be given giv-en an opportunity to vie for scholarships at the national level lev-el worth a total of $30,000. In addition scholarships will be given giv-en on the state level and cash prizes in the area surrounding the Cedar City lodge. Ten national scholarships are awarded to the top five boys and the top five girls in the search for the country's most valuable students. On the state level scholars'' scholar-s'' Ips in the amount of $1200 wiU be plven to be used at any accredited college in the state. Six scholarships will be awarded award-ed as follows: First, $400; sec- ond, $300; third, $200; fourth. $150; fifth, $100, and sixth, $50. On the local level the Elks will give cash prizes to three students. stu-dents. First place winner will be awarded $75, second place $50: and third $25.
