Show Finalists to Emerge In Seminary Oratorical Contest Six finalists in the L D S Seminary Sem-inary oratorical contest will be selected this evening, Thursday,, at a special meeting to be held at the L D S Institute. Finalists for the contest will then participate in the contest finals to be held at the Cedar Stake House Sunday evening, Feb. 10 at 8:15, according to Gaylynn Sherratt, chairman of the event. Theme for the contest this year is "Why I Would Be a Mormon." Mor-mon." Each of the contestants I will le Judged and prizes will be awarded to the top three in the contest. First prize will be a Missionary Mission-ary Bible. Second place winner will receive a triple combination, combina-tion, and a copy of "Gospel Ideals," by Pres. David O. McKay Mc-Kay will be given to the third place winner. Members of the committee in charge of the contest, which has become an annual event, are Miss Sherratt, Marlene Benson and Eleanor Grlmshaw. Paul Dahl Is faculty advisor to the ', group. The contest is open to the public pub-lic and everyone has been ex- tnded an invitation to attend , the event Sunday evening. , |
