Show i LETTERS TO THE EDITOR BEWARE Or LETTERS TO THE EDITOR All my life I have thought that those who wrote for the paper pa-per were conscientious and until un-til last Thursday when I read an article entitled "LETTS QUIT LIVING IN THE PAST," written by someone who is fairly close to me, namely my father, Dr. A. L. Graff. The article says don't look back but everytime I want to drive the car two blocks to school, I have have to hear him tell about how he had to walk five miles to school and In two feet of snow. And he just about hits the ceiling when I mention having a car of my own like most teenagers have. According to the article you would thing he liked labor unions un-ions because they have kept wages wa-ges up but, you should hear him complain every tlrn! he pays a hired man because the salaries are too high. . In the Doctor's article he likes the fact that everyone Is enjoying enjoy-ing luxury today but does he gripe about everyone buying cars on the Installment plan and he can't find a place to park. His article states that Benson is a great man but every time the price of lambs and cattle go down and the drouth hangs on, the remarks he makes about Benson are not fit to print. When I refused to eat with the family because I have already al-ready guzzled cokes and malted milks, I have to hear a. long lecture lec-ture about the wonderful diet he had when he was a kid and how he preserved his health and teeth by refraining from all those Improper drinks. He even goes so far as to say the American Ameri-can Dog has a better diet than our modern teenager. According to the article he Is a great believer In the modern Income tax. I notice on the 15th of April and a week before he's awfully hard to live with. He also said in his article that he was in favor of teen-age marriages mar-riages but he said I can't get AS I SEE IT Politics are still hot and heavy, not as to whom Is to be elected, but to what the new candidates are going to do. The main issue now that our legislators have been considering is how much can (or will) we stand. Speaking of taxes, our income tax is the worst and If It can't be revised or repealed it will eventually destroy all that Amer-ca Amer-ca has stood for our American freedom and our American progress. pro-gress. Your income tax dollars helped help-ed finance such projects as (1) highways for communist Yugo-slovla; Yugo-slovla; (2) homes for Turkish miners; (3) a model city for Com-munist Com-munist Nehru of India; (4) allowed al-lowed Great Britian to reduce its income tax. This unconstitutional use of your tax dollar is called "Foreign Aid." For such purposes the U. S. Government spent 4.5 billions in 1954. Total Illegal contrlbu-tlonal contrlbu-tlonal spending of your hard earned tax dollar, of 332.5 billions bil-lions of dollars in 1954. We see by the news, that since our Washington bureaucrats have taken over the middle east, England Eng-land has reduced their taxes 50 per cent. Congress has a bill before the house where professional men have got ta compute their income in-come tax on their own profession and cannot' fuze or take credit or loss with any other business. This bill will cause some professional pro-fessional people to look back. Looking back, X rn sure, is a healthy condition but sometimes it makes you shudder and wonder won-der where our free spending, high taxing government Is going. go-ing. In 1913, we were the richest i nation in the world. Today, because be-cause of our f Income tax and , foreign aid. we are the poorest nation In the world. CLARENCE LAMOREAUX P.
