Show Chamber of Commerce Reviews Gain States Need for City-Wide Support With many opportunities for industrial expansion and other community developments in sight for Cedar City, the newly organized board of directors of the Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce, and regular committees are hoping to create renewed Interest in the organization, Graham MacDonald, president states. He pointed out that the only way to obtain united or enthusiastic enthus-iastic effort is to have a strong and wide awake membership, and with this In mind the board has appointed a finance committee com-mittee with instruction to proceed immediately with steps to gain community support in the way of a large membership. Carmel tunnel highway, road to the stockyards and to the iron mines, the highway from the I mines to Newcastle, widening of Main Street in Cedar City and construction of the bridge over Coal Creek north of Cedar City. Other Important projects that were completed because of unit-ed unit-ed effort include re opening of the bank during the depression, establishment of four-year training- at College of Southern Utah, erection of the fieldhouse at C S U and other developments at that place, establishment of the Iron County Hospital, providing land which resulted In the erection erec-tion of the federal building in Cedar City, development of the Cedar City Armory, the Cedar City airport, development of the dike at Navajo Lake, and at least the beginning of vital water wa-ter projects on which the future of the community depends. Strong Chamber Needed "Many more such projects face the community, and if we are to take full advantage of our opportunities op-portunities we must have a strong Chamber of Commerce," Bulloch said, "and to have a strong chamber the membership should be community wide. Therefore we will attempt to expand ex-pand the membership this year to make it really representative 1 of the entire community to provide pro-vide sufficient funds for the offl- cors to really do a good Job dur-, dur-, lng the coming year."
