Show NEWS FROM PARAGONAH I Mrs. Hllma Lamoreaux The Memorial Day week end brought numerous former resl-Jents resl-Jents and relatives back to Para-jonah Para-jonah to visit with family members mem-bers as well as to pay honor to iheir deceased relatives. One family used the day to organize a family organization. The meeting was held in the ward chapel. They were the descendants de-scendants of William Robb, early pioneer of this area. Legrande Robb was named president with J. C. Robb, Cedar City, Dr. James Worlton. Colorado Springs and Ivan Robb, vice presidents; Mrs. Patty Christiansen, Salt Lake City, secretary; Victor R. Robinson, Robin-son, Ogden, genealogist and Mrs. Cleone Dalton, Cedar City, historian. his-torian. Plans were made for a family reunion later in the summer. sum-mer. Mr. and Mrs. Victor R. Robinson Robin-son and family of Ogden arrived here on Friday for a two-day stay with Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Davenport and other family members. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Manzione and family of Tooele arrived in town on Friday for a visit with the H. Revere Robinsons. Gordon returned home on Sunday leaving the others here for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Talbot and children came from Salt Lake City for the holiday with their people, the Renford Talbot and T. A. Robinson families. When they returned home they left Curtis Cur-tis and Valerie for a longer stay with their Talbot grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Board man had guests for the holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Lor in Robinson and Mrs. Lou Ella were here from Kanarraville Friday and Saturday. Satur-day. Mr. and Mrs. Orlo Topham and Mrs. Eliza Norton had a host of visitors during the week end. Mr. and Mrs. James Hastings and Mrs. LaVon MeClary came from Las Vegas, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Parker and two daughters came from Flagstaff, Ariz., Leon Guy-mon Guy-mon came from Layton and Mr. and Mrs. John M. Guymon Hen ry and small son were riere irom Panguitch. Mrs. Sarah Davis was here from Cedar City and as it was her birthday on Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Topham entertained all available family members at a dinner party in her honor. Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Stolk of Parowan Joined the others here for that occasion. Mrs. Olive Edwards has gone to Beaver to spend some time with her son, Reed and family. Billy has reported back to San Diego for his next assignment with the Navy. Mr. and Mrs. Fay Stewart and son, K. C, visited with their Lamoreaux La-moreaux relatives in Paragonah for the week end and were guests at the Kay Lamoreaux home. They came from Afton. Wyo., and were met in Paragonah by their son-in-law, Jim Sampson, and two sons of Calexlco, Calif., and their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Foremaster and two little boys of Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Burton and three children of Layton and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Lamoreaux and two babies of Murray were here for several days visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Errol Lamoreaux Lamor-eaux and with relatives in Parowan. Paro-wan. Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Stones were here from Salt Lake City for the holiday. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. D. Amasa Stones. Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Robinson and their seven children came from Orem Thursday to visit until Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Chester Robinson. Teresa remain-in remain-in town for a longer stay with her grandparents. Merrill Lund of Salt Lake City, his son, Lanae, and family members mem-bers of Murray and Mr. and Mrs. Lamarr Lund and children of Lehi were here Saturday. They met their mother, Mrs. Adelaide Lund, who had recently come from California and took her north with them. Mr. and Mrs. Alpine Thornton and son of Las Vegas were here for several days last week visiting visit-ing with Marguirite's mother, Mrs. Elva McBride. Mrs. Mabel Robinson and Mrs. Katherine Smith and children came from Salt Lake City. They were accompanied by Miss Ellen Marie Wallace of Allamagardo, New Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lister traveled tra-veled to Provo Thursday of last week to attend the graduation exercises at the Trade Technical Institute. Their son, Sam, was a member of the graduating class receiving his diploma from the school of auto mechanics. He has employment at the Bradshaw Chevrolet Co. in Beaver. Mrs. Alice Jones traveled to Provo for the Trade School graduation gradu-ation exercises. Her son eraduat ed from the school of Dicl Mechanics and has secured employment em-ployment in Santaquin. Utah. Mrs. Jones was accompanied to Provo by her daughter, Claudia, her mother, Mrs. Carmen Topham and by J. B.'s wife and baby who have been in Beaver. Bishop and Mrs. Boyd Robinson welcomed a baby daughter at the Valley View Medical Center early Monday, June 1st. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Abbott -and j family were here from Murray' for the week end. They brought Tom's mother, Mrs. Myrtle Abbott, Ab-bott, home again following her two-week stay there. Mr. and Mrs. Delman Holyoak of Milford and Mr. and Mrs. Le-nor Le-nor Holyoak of Lund were holiday holi-day visitors here as were their brother, Royce Holyoak, and wife and their aister, Mrs. Larette Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stringfellow of Ogden were among the holiday holi-day visitors to this area. They visited with Jean's relatives. Mrs. Inez Hamblin and Mrs. Mildred Bozarth of Las Vegas were among the holiday visitors here. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Thornton of Salt Lake City were holiday visitors at the Earl Thornton home. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Walker Wal-ker of Cedar City also visited at the Thornton home. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Benson and daughters were here from Beaver Saturday to visit with relatives. Gay Lynn remained to spend a few days with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lamoreaux. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Robb are here from Salt Lake City again visiting with the Ivan Robbs. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Christiansen Christian-sen and family of Salt Lake City were here last week end for an overnight visit with the Douglas Davenports and Will Robbs. Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Robb and son, Mike, were also here to visit with them and with Kaye's people in Parowan before returning to Salt Lake City. Walter Talbot has been enjoy-ing enjoy-ing visits from his son, Roy, of Kaysvllle and daughter, Alice of American Fork who came to Paragonah Wednesday of last week. They took Miss Talbot back north Sunday but Roy will spend more time here with his father. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lund en-Joyed en-Joyed a get-together with members mem-bers of Wilson's family who were here Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ro-bert Armbrust and two youngsters young-sters were here from Boulder City. Mr. and Mrs. Clem Duncan and daughter, La Veda came from Meadow. Mr. and Mrs. J. Lamarr Smith came from Cedar City and the Heber Lund family came from Parowan to join the group. On Sunday Mrs. Olive Maxwell and Mr. and Mrs. Murl Gibson and daughter. Kathy, of Cedar City visited at the Lund home ami Mrs. Louella Maxwell of To-qurville To-qurville arrived to care for Mrs. Elfcibeth Maxwell Monday. Mrs. Roene Lund, daughter, Gayle, and Miss Clara Mae Allison Alli-son traveled to Provo Monday to see Victor and Betty Smith and to bring the Smith children to Paragonah. Monday evening Wilson Lund traveled east to Highway 89 with Clara Mae to see her on the bus bound for New Mexico. Clara is returning to her home In To-hotchi To-hotchi after spending the winter with the Lunds. Mrs. Iras Jones arrived home Saturday after an absence during which she spent a week in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City and had the bolt removed from her knee. A brother, Orin Bell, his wife and daughter of Bountiful, Bounti-ful, brought Mrs. Jones home and spent the week end here with her and Grandma Bell. Mr. and Mrs. Jenn Barton of Cedar City visited with relatives here Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. El Roy Mason and son of Cedar City were Saturday visitors at the Ivan Robb home. Mrs. Thelma Mosdell and Mrs. - Lynn Mosdell were here from Cedar Ce-dar City Saturday for a visit with the Joseph E. Barton family and other relatives. Neil Talbot arrived here Friday to visit for a few days with his folks the Orson Talbots. Before leaving the state for the summer. Neil is going to Vernal to join his National Guard unit for their summer camp which will take them to Seattle, Wash., following which he has work in Oregon. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boardman were here from Garrison for a few days last week. They took their young son, Travis, home with them. He has been here for a visit with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Boardman. Eugene Boardman is home for a visit with his people the Bill Boardman family. He has completed com-pleted his years schooling at BYU and will be leaving for National Na-tional Guard Summer encampment encamp-ment at Jordan Narrows on Saturday. Sat-urday. Gene will be going to Officers Of-ficers Candidate School. Mrs. Alene Prothero visited in Orem from Saturday to Monday with her sister, Mrs. Pat Close and family. Mrs. Pearl MeConnell and son-in-law. Smith Stapley of Cedar City were visitors at the home of Mr., and Mrs. Ellis Robinson Saturday, Mrs. Dora Wade and daughter, Margaret of Cedar City spent Saturday Sat-urday here with the H. Revere Robinson family and other relatives. |
