Show Parowan Hi Students To Participate In Exchange Program Six Parowan High School students stu-dents of Mrs. Leilani Bcntley's Spanish class will be part of a group of 25 students from Utah high schools, who will participate in an exchange program, in which they will go to Mexico, and students from Mexico schools will come to utah. Students who will travel to Mexico from the Parowan High include Kathleen Mitchell, Kath-ryn Kath-ryn Rowley, Mickie Applegate, Annette Stubbs, Carl Banks and Elliott Hulet. They will leave here about June 10 and will go to Hermo Sillo, Sonora, Mexico, which is about 250 miles south of the border. At the same time six students from the high school in the Mexican Mexi-can city will leave and come to Parowan under the exchange program which has been arranged arrang-ed under the direction of Prof. Keith Thompson of the University of Utah, who has been promoting promot-ing these exchanges for several years. The students from here will move into the homes of the Mexican Mex-ican students, upon their arrival there and the students from Mexico Mex-ico will move into the home of the parents of the Parowan students stu-dents upon their arrived here, according to the program. In this way the cost of board and room will be eliminated. The period of the exchange program is for one month. The parents of the Parowan students are, in the order they were named above, Mr. tind Mrs. Karl O. Mitchell, Mr. i i Mrs. George F. Rowley, Mr. .nd Mrs. Don Applegate, Mr and Mrs. Roy Stubbs, Mr. and Mrs. George Banks and Mr. and Mrs. Rupert S. Hulet. The visitors to Parowan will correspond in age to these students, we understand. |
