Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING By Virginia Webster Supper was served to over 30' guests who attended a special Kitchen Shower for bride-to-be Claudette Smith. Hostesses for the party, held Thursday, May 28, were Jackie Heap, Carol Miles, Susan Hunter and Dorothy Doro-thy Robb. In Cedar City for the week end was Mrs. Errolyn O. Wilkinson and her daughter Nicole. They flew here from Salt Lake City to spend the Memorial Day holiday with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Orton. Mrs. Wilkinson has made her home in Salt Lake City for the past three months, where she is employed by the Travelers Insurance In-surance Company. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Pace journeyed jour-neyed to Ogden this past week where they met their daughter, Mrs. Barbara Morgan and her children, Cathy, Charles and Gayle. The Morgan family had accompanied Mrs. Morgan's brother. bro-ther. Robert Pace to Utah from Lander, Wyoming. After spending spend-ing Memorial Day and the following fol-lowing five days here, Mrs. Morgan Mor-gan and her children made the return trip home with other Cedar Ce-dar City family members. Dr. and Mrs. Frank Petty and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Petty, Jr. of Cedar City have spent the recent holiday entertaining Mr. and Mrs. Asil Petty and their four daughters of Salt Lake City. A trip to the Southern Utah Parks and a family picnic were enjoyed. Sam Sorenson of LaHabra, Calif., made a three-day stop in Cedar City last week where he visited with relatives. Mr. Sorenson, Soren-son, who was en route home af- ter vacationing in Oregon, was a guest at the Douglas S. Clark residence. He also visited with Mrs. Lilly Clark and others. While Mr. Sorenson was in town, Collins Fife, a nephew, and his wife and children also arrived here from California. The Fife family and Mr. Sorenson traveled to Parowan together where they visited with Aunt Violet Urie. Mrs. Mont Hunter of Murray, Utah, was in Cedar City for Memorial Me-morial Day. Mrs. Hunter visited with members of her family before be-fore traveling on to Las Vegas where she planned to stay with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Long. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Adams this past week end was Capt. R. E. Adams and his wife, Jan. Capt. Adains is temporarily stationed at Nellls Air Force Base at Las Vegas. After special training there he will return to his former base in Kansas. Last Thursday Del Rich, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Rich, traveled to Pico Rivera. Calif., where he will be employed for the summer. sum-mer. Accompanying Del to California Cal-ifornia was his grandmother, Mrs. Lillian Rich, who was returning re-turning to her home after visiting vi-siting here for the past two weeks. While residing in California, Calif-ornia, Del will make his home with his grandmother. Spending Friday in Cedar City with family members were Mr. and Mrs. Joel Webster. Mrs. Webster, the former Moranne Bradshaw, enjoyed visiting at the Sherwin Bradshaw home where she was pleased to visit with her sister, Mrs. LaRae Slack and Mrs. Slack's five children of Hunter, Utah, who were here for Memorial Day. Week end visitors at the home of Mrs. Virginia Leonard included includ-ed her son-inlaw, Dale, and her daughter, Judy Rider, along with their two children of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Leonard also welcomed wel-comed her neice, Mrs. Richard Craven and her three children who arrived early this week for a seven-day visit. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ward and family traveled to Richfield where they spent the Memorial Day holiday. For the Memorial Day vacation Mr. and Mrs. Ned Sargent motor ed to Downey, Calif., where they were guests of their son and aaughier-in-iaw, iar. and Mi a. Sheldon Sargent. They were happy hap-py to meet their new granddaughter grand-daughter while they were there. Miss i Diane Gillies, Miss Joan Farnsworth and Miss Katherine Murray were among the many Utah Park employees who began their seasonal work at Zlon Park early this week. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wright of Milford spent the holiday week end in Cedar City with family members. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Palmer and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Bauer and family bid farewell to their out-of-state guests Tuesday. Tues-day. They had enjoyed visiting with Dr. Rodney I. Palmer, Castro Cas-tro Valley, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Richard I. Palmer, Milbrae; Dr. Morton Palmer, Mr. Virgil Spak-man, Spak-man, Mr. Gordon Lowe and Mr. Ray Lloyd of Oakland, Calif. Attending a Jackson family reunion re-union In Toquervllle were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jackson Mrs. Richard Hlgbee, Mrs. Antone Lambert and Miss Ember Lambert Lam-bert of Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cook of Las Vegas stopped In Cedar City en route to a homecoming celebration celebra-tion In Caliente, Nev., During their stay here they were house guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Adams. Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Adams are sisters. Guests at the home of Mrs. Wealth Reeves are her daughter Faye and Phyllis and their children. chil-dren. Faye nd her husband, Grant Wiser, and Phyllis and her husband, Kent Webster, all of Rose Park, Utah, arrived in Cedar City Thursday evening. Mr. Wiser and Mr. Webster returned re-turned Monday. |
