Show I CSU Air Force Cadets Pass in Final Review Cadets and Sponsors in the Air Force detachment at College of Southern Utah passed in their fln! review this week before AF-ROTC AF-ROTC Staff officers and college officials. Conducting the review was Major D. C. Gordon, Commandant Com-mandant of the unit Highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to top cadets ca-dets and to the Sponsor of the Year. Cadet Major Gary E. Brown, Monroe, a mechanical engineering en-gineering student earned the Reserve Re-serve Officers Association (Dug-way (Dug-way Proving Ground) Award for 1964 as the outstanding Air Science Sci-ence 2 cadet In the detachment. Brown also received the General Dynamics Corporation award. Chicago Tribune awards were presented to the following: gold medal, Lamar Anderson, a forestry fores-try student from Paragonah; Robert Ro-bert Blaine Petersen, biological science major, Park City. Silver medals, Merlin Widick, Moth student majoring in physical ed-I ed-I ucation; Devon Porter, Cedar City, Ci-ty, majoring in Social Sciences. Gordon Farmer, Anchorage. Alaska, and Steven Asay, Monroe, Mon-roe, were given the Commandant's Comman-dant's Award for outstanding; contribution to the unit. Both, men are first year cadets. 1 Miss Lila Wells, Pleasant; Grove was named "Sponsor ct-the ct-the Year." The Sponsor Corps Is an auxiliary marching and campus cam-pus service unit of the AFROTC |
