Show Last Rites Accorded lane B. Richards Mrs. Jane B. Richards, 69, ae- tive Parowan church worker, died' 'on Friday evening at the Iron1 County Hospital following a stroke which she suffered at her! home here a day or two previous. Funeral services for her were held Monday at 2 p. m. in the, Parowan Third Ward chapel with! Glen Halterman of the Second Ward bishopric conducting and speaking briefly at the services. Other speakers were F. C. Van Buren and Joseph E. Ward and Barbara M. Adams gave a brief history of the life of the deceased. deceas-ed. The prayer at the home of Mrs. Richards prior to the services, was offered by a son-in-law, Sherwin C. Benson; the invocation invoca-tion offered by Howard Joseph, the benediction was by Karl Benson, Ben-son, a nephew, and the grave in the Parowan City cemetery was dedicated by W. Clair Rowley, a brother-in-law. A double mixed quartet consisting con-sisting of Verl Taylor, Ray Lyman, Ly-man, Watson Adams, Karl Mitchell, Mitch-ell, Alice Mitchell, Ola Robinson, Berta Dalton and Veda Adams. I sang "The Lord's Prayer," as the opening number and "Abide With I Me" as the closing one. They were accompanied by Mary Ly-I Ly-I man. Other musical number were I a song "Prayer of Mercy," by a ladies trio, Ramona and Elna Stubbs and Shirley Evans, ac-Icompanied ac-Icompanied by Itha Mortensen, I and a vocal duet "In the Garden" by Whitney Orton and Rula D. Orton, with Mrs. Lyman at the ' piano. Mrs. Mortensen was at the organ for prelude and postlude music. Phebe Jane Benson Mitchell Richards was born in Parowan Feb. 5, 1802, a daughter of Al-vin Al-vin and Elizabeth Orton Benson. She attended local schools and spent her entire life in Parowan where si e .vas active as a worker work-er in the LDS Church, serving as officer and teacher in most of the church auxiliaries. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Pioneers and of the American Amer-ican Legion Auxiliary. I She married Frank Mitchell on Sept. 22, 1911 and the marriage was later solemnized in the St. I George Temple. He died July 13. 1 1933 and she married David Rich-lards Rich-lards in March, 1913. He died Nov. ' 12, 1951. Survivors are six sons and daughter and four stepsons, Mrs. Hyrum (Maytha) Boardman and Mrs. Sherwin (Roenai Benson, Parowan; Carlyle Mitchell and Mrs. Duard (Betty Lou) Sehop-pman. Sehop-pman. Cedar City; Kenneth B. Mitchell, Weed Heights, Nev.; ! Mrs. Charles (Nola May) Palm r, California; Carl Richards. Dallas, Texas; Arden Richards, Summit, Reed Richards, Granger. Utah, and Lucius Dean Richards, Las Vegas, Nev.; 19 grandchilden and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Clifford Benson of Toppenish, Wash., and a sister. Mrs. W.
