Show Annual County Basketball Tourney Set for Week End in Cedar. Parowan Annual Iron County Basketball tournament 'lighlight of the preseason pre-season high school season, will be staged Friday and Saturday in Cedar City and Parowan with the two Iron County schools playing play-ing host to South Sevier of Monroe Mon-roe arul Gunnison. Games will be played in Cedar Ce-dar City Friday evening at the College of Southern Utah field-house field-house and Saturday the clubs i will move to Parowan. : Gaines will begin each evening ! at 7:30 p. m. Friday night's schedule will be as follows: 7:30 p. m. Parowan vs. South Sevier. 0:00 p. m. Cedar City vs. Gunnison. Saturday the teams will reverse re-verse to play at Parowan. as follows: 7:30 p. m. Cedar City vs. South Sevier. 9:00 p. m. P.i rowan vs Gunnison Admission charges for each evening of the tournament have been set at $1.00 for adults; 50 cents for college students with student body cards and 25 cents for children. High School students stu-dents of Parowan and Cedar City will be admitted on their cards. The Iron County clubs should find a real test In this two game series. Gunnison will come Into the tournament as a favor- ite over both of the Iron County schools. One of the reasons for that favoritism is their win this past week over the strong Pan-guitch Pan-guitch High School club. Tan-guitch Tan-guitch last week defeated the Cedar High School Redmen and the Redmen have downed the Parowan Rams in their first meeting this season. South Sevier has played some close ones this season, one of them a;;ainst Gunni -o.i and alr.o South Sevier held Gary 11:11 to less than 10 points, they still were defeated, but only by a slim margin. The contest Friday evening between be-tween the Redmen and the Gunnison Gun-nison crew should be an interesting inter-esting battle with two of the state's toughest Junior hoop sters meeting in this battle. Hill of Gunnison was named to the Class B All-State team in his sophomore year and is expected to be stronger than ever this year as a junior . Neil Roberts of the Redmen was also rated as one of the top sophomores of the state last season and was one of the standouts in the entire en-tire Class B tournament last season. sea-son. He has been scoring at an 18.8 point per game clip in the first five outings. The Rams are lacking in heighth this year, but not desire. de-sire. Defensively they have been working a fine zone defense to give them balance and position on their rebounding against the taller clubs they have been facing. fac-ing.
