Show Leaders Return From 4-H Conferences Returning from Utah 4-H Leadership Lead-ership Conference held at Logan last week were: Norma Jean Randall, Jimmy Cox, and Darla Garfield from Cedar City, Sandra Orton, Parowan and Carolee Hunt from Beryl. These young people came back enthusiastic over the program and training they received. Theme for the "Build a Better You." Especially well received were discussions led by Edward V. To close this gap is the challenge for you, tomorrow's tomor-row's leaders." Glen T. Baird, State 4-H club leader with USU Extension Services, Ser-vices, reminded the delegates that they were selected because of their leadership role in the the county. "The pay-off of your leadership developing experience hero is what happens in your counties. The decision is yours now to resolve that when you get home you will take advantage advan-tage of opportunities in 4-H and continue to develop and improve yourselves and do more to help other people," he said. Amy Kearsley, associate 4-H State leader, praised the way the young people carried out their leadership responsibilities throughout the conference. Participating in special activities activi-ties Jimmy was asked to conduct the entire forenoon session on Thursday, at the Rural Arts Building; Jimmy and Norma Jean ran for Mayor and Mayor-ette Mayor-ette respectively. Selected were Brent Christensen Mayfield and Ruth Yamasaki Corinne; Carolee Caro-lee was selected to h lp with recreation rec-reation activities for the smorgasbord smor-gasbord held ihe Wednesday evening held in the ballroom of the Student Union Bldg. Two hundred from the various counties coun-ties attended the conference. Supervising the group from Iron County was Mabel Merrill, Home Agent for the Extension Services. |
