Show Foreign Mission Call Received by Elder Stuart Vorkink LEGRAND STUART VORKINK A call from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Elder LeGrand Stuart Vorkink to serve on a foreign mission has been received, according to Bishop Bish-op Burton White of the Cedar Sixth Ward, Cedar West Stake. Elder Vorkink, a son of Mr. and Mrs.1 J. Paul Vorkink of Cedar Ce-dar City, has been called to serve in the Norwegian Mission field. Plans have been made for a testimonial In honor of Elder Vorkink which will be held at the Cedar City Stake House Sunday, Sun-day, June 18 at 6:30 in connection connec-tion with the ward's Sacramental Sacrament-al Services. Speakers at the services will include Homer Christensen and Frank Day with special musical number by Yvonne Vorkink, Bob-ette Bob-ette Bauer, Marsha Vorkink and Evelvn Vorkink. and a niann solo by Michael Jones. Parents of the missionary will also speak with a response by i Elder Vorkink. He has chosen I Mac Neil Boyter and Rod Cox i to offer the invocation and bene-i bene-i diction, respectively. Elder Vorkink is a graduate of j Cedar City High School and has this past year been a student at College of Southern Utah. lie also al-so graduated from the LDS Seminary Sem-inary and "was a student at the LDS Institute of Religion while a student at CSU. Ho has served a six-month active ac-tive tour of duty through the Utah National Guard, undergoing undergo-ing basic training at Fort Ord, Calif. Always active In the affairs of the church this past year has was accorded the coveted "Duty to God," award for participation in priesthood activities and Boy Scout work.
