Show New Registration Record for CSU Summer Session First day registrations at Col-lose Col-lose ut Southern Utah Summer Session tallied a new high of 118 adults and KHi children, according accord-ing to Chairman Dr. Morris Shirts. Several sessions . ;i'e hci.i; taught i;i iHo-wtvk blocks so many more students are expected expect-ed to participate during the 7 weeks of summer work at the Cedar City institution. The second sec-ond session beginning Juno 2l will feature classes on taxonomy taxon-omy of plants, science in the elementary ele-mentary school, the junior high school program, geology of Southern Utah, problems of school librarians, choral conducting, music for the elementary school and business machines. The regular CSU Concert-Lee-ture series got underway Tuesday Tues-day June 13 with a lecture by Dr. Evan J. Memmot, Brigham Young University staff member. He Is a specialist in the field of audio-visual education. Next lecture Tuesday, June 20 will feature fea-ture Dr. Gerald W. Brown, University Uni-versity of California who will discuss dis-cuss "Mathematics as It Applies to Teaching." First tour of the summer session ses-sion is slated for Thursday, June 15 atop Hurricane Mesa to Project Pro-ject Smart operation. Hurricane Mesa is a supersonic test site. Next tour to follow will take place Friday through Sunday, June 16 to 18 on the Utah Trails tour retracing early historical sites through old state capitol building in Fillmore, USU campus cam-pus Logan, Bear Lake, Ft. Brid-ger, Brid-ger, Wyoming and along the old Pioneer Trail to Salt Lake City and then home. |
