Show PARAGONAII NEWS NOTES Mn, Hilma Lamoreaux Mrs. Annie Talbot and daughter daugh-ter Judy spent last week In Salt Lake City with members of their family. They made the trip in order to attend the University of Utah Commencement exercises exer-cises on Monday. The Talbots' son, Jim, was a members of the graduating class. Mrs. Talbot and her daughter returned home on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Talbot who came for a week's vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Montague and their daughters Linda and Mary Jo of Payson were overnight over-night visitors in Paragonah. Miss Patsy Topham is here for a two week visit with her folks, the Alma Topham family. Patsy is on vacation from her nurses training at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake Citv. Miss Linda Rae Dalton left for Logan Saturday to attend the annual an-nual Girl's State activities. She went with Mrs. Merna Mitchell. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Robinson and three older children traveled to Kanab Saturday. They were accompanied by Mrs. Miriam Anderson, An-derson, Jimmy Lamoreaux and Lee Arlen Topham. Boyd has secured se-cured employment with the mo- vn-s emu aaiuraays inp was made to be fitted for costumes. He left here early Monday to begin be-gin work. Mr. and Mrs. D Amasa Stones had a very interesting week end trip to Salt Lake City. Mr. Stones went on business in connection with the Fair Board but he and his wife were able to attend some of the MIA Conference activities ac-tivities including the production of "Promised Valley." Mrs. Nel-son Nel-son Taylor and her baby traveled travel-ed to the city with Mr. and Mrs. Stones. Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Mitchell and their daughters Susan and Carla were here for the week end. Mrs. Mitchell took care of the Post Office during her father's absence. Mrs. Shirley White and her ' children were over from Summit last week to spend a day with the Revere Robinsons and Mrs. Janine Manzione. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Prothero of Montebello, California, arrived here on Saturday for a few days visit with family members. They have been guests at the Clifton Stones home. Mrs. Bertha S. Topham has just had a nice visit from her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Smith of Phoenix, Arizona. Ari-zona. Mr. Smith spent some time in Beaver while his wife stayed in Paragonah. Mrs. Marilyn Bradshaw and her children of Beaver were in town Saturday to spend the day with Mr. and Mrs. J. Leonard Topham. Young C. K. Reese of Salt Lake City arrived here on Monday to spend a week visiting with his aunt and uncle, Alta and David Dalton and their family. A number of Paragonah ladies attended the county Civil Defence De-fence luncheon meeting held in Parowan Tuesday of last week. Included in the group were Mrs. Irene Robinson, Mrs. Leah Jean Doardman, Mrs. Helen Stones, Mrs. Erma Robinson, Mrs. Iras Jones, Mrs. Erma Lamoreaux. Mrs. Pauline Topham, Miss Gladys Edwards, Mrs, Ila Williamson. Wil-liamson. Mrs.. Idella Robinson nd Mi.;. June Topham. Gordon Manzione was here from Tooele for the week end. He came to get his family who had been visiting here with the Revere Robinsons for the past two weeks. Roy Talbot and a friend Russ Burton, both of Kaysville, have been visiting here with Roy's father, fa-ther, Walter Talbot. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Cox of . Salt Lake City visited her on Tuesday of last week at the home of Mrs. J. Lowe Barton. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Robinson nd son Elmo were away for the week end. Mrs. Robinson visited vis-ited with family members in Provo while the men went on to Vernal for the week end horse races. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Burton and their smal son arrived here Wednesday night from Logan. Laura and the baby will be spending the summer months here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Errol Lamoreaux. Donald has summer employment employ-ment with the Bureau of Land Management and left for St. George early Monday to begin work. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Martin of Sierra Madre, Calif., visited here for a week with Mrs. Melva Barton. Bar-ton. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Dimick and two of their family visited here early last week with Mrs. Melva Barton. The Dimicks are from American Fork Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Abbott and their three youngsters of Murray were here for tbe week end. When the parents returned home early Monday the children remained in Paragonah to spend more time with their grandmother, grandmo-ther, Mrs. Myrtle Abbott. The Paragonah Pot Scrappers 4-H Club was organized during the week. The cooking club elected Klea Abbott, president; Judy Talbot, vice president; Sue Dunton, secretary; Diane Lamoreaux, Lamor-eaux, cheerleader, and Barbara Stones, reporter. |
