Show Porter Amasa Clark Succumbs in Las Vegas Wednesday Porter Amasa Clark, 71, naifve of Parowan and long time resident resi-dent of Parowan, Enoch and Cedar Ce-dar City, died at Las Vegas, Nevada, Ne-vada, Wednesday evening follow-ine follow-ine a serious illness of a month's duration. He had been in poor health for the past year or more. Mr. Clark, who for many years served as Postmaster in Parowan, was born in Parowan on Oct. 10, 1874, a son of Porter Vander and Laura Lyman Clark. On Aug. 25, 1909, he married 'Emma Leonard In the Salt Lake temple upon his return from a mission in the mid-western mid-western states for the LDS church. They made their home in Parowan and Cedar City until about 1938, when they moved to Montana. Since 1941 they had made their home in Las Vegas. An active member of the church Mr. Clark was a member of the High Priests quorum at the time of his death. He is survived by his widow, Las Vegas; three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Ruth) Maughn, Las Vegas; Mrs. D. R. (Marie) Laner, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Lowc.'l (Helen) Griffiths, Dugway, Utah; one son, Major Porter A. Clark, who returned re-turned from Korea about a month ago and is currently stationed sta-tioned at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, grand-children, two sisters, Mrs. J. E. (Nellie) Dalton, Cowley, Wyo.; Mrs. Louis (Leila) Nelson, Cedar City, and one brother, Clarence Wells Clark, Woodland, Calif. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted In Las Vegas at 2:00 p. m. Monday, April 9. Burial will be in Las Vegas. |
