Show LEE WOOD NEW RULER Elks Hold Inspiring Installation Ceremonies At a meeting held Wednesday, April 4, the Cedar City Elks Lodge installed its officers for the coming year. The ceremonies ceremon-ies were conducted during the business meeting by past exalted exalt-ed rulers who are e.'so members of the Grand Lodge of the Benev- olent and Protective Order of Elks. Lee Wood was installed as exalted ex-alted ruler of the organization, with Wayne Jackson as esteemed leading knight, Charles Ahlstrom, Ahl-strom, esteemed loyal knight; Blaine Wood, esteemed lecturing knight; Ralph C Adams, secre tary; Ronald Morgan, tiler; Lee Empey, treasurer, and five year trustee, Past Exalted Ruler Hal-dow Hal-dow E. Chrlstensen. Appointive officers were Douglas Murphy as esquire, -John Qulnn chaplain; J. V. Adams as Inner guard, and Cllve Hartman was Installed as organist; Alternate to the Grand Lodge, Dee Arthur. , After the ceremonies a short and most inspiring address was given by Scth Billings, chairman of the Grand Lodge Auditing Committee, and a very active Elk. Billings spoke on the obligations obli-gations of the new officers and the meaning of true Elkdom Each new officer was called on for a few remarks, each thanking the lodge membership and offering offer-ing his support to Exalted Ruler Lee Wood. Wood spoke, stating hla thanks for the confidence shown In electing him to his position, and made a few comments on a lew proposed activities for the coming com-ing year. A wider scope of chari table activities will be planned with full support going to youth activities, Including Little League Baseball and Boy Scouts of America.
