Show Lucile Hunt Named as International Farm Youth Delegate From Utah . :rT ;.4 V ;; -ij LUCILE HUNT Miss Lucile Hunt, 23, Beryl, and presently a home economic teacher at Panguitch High School, has been named to represent re-present Utah as an International Farm Youth Delegate to Nepal, Glenn T. Baird, state 4-H club leader announced. ! Nepal, he reminded, is the little lit-tle country precariously situated between India and Red China. In 1958 Utahns enjoyed the association as-sociation of two I FY exchanges who came from that country. Five young people participating in the program are expected to come to Utah from other countries coun-tries during May to October. 1963. This exchange program In the state is cooperatively sponsored by the Utah Lions Clubs, Extension Exten-sion Service and the National 4-H Foundation. A people to people peo-ple program, the IFYE participants partici-pants learn to appreciate others by living, working and sharing experiences with rural people of oilier lands, Mr. Baird explain ed. Miss Hunt, the daughter of It. and Mrs. Ray Von Hunt, is he 26th young person to go from Jtah to other countries in this rogram since 1949. She will re-wrt re-wrt to Washington. D. C, Sep-ember Sep-ember 20, 1963 for orientation before going and will return from Nepal in early April, 1964. County Agent Wallace Sjo-blom Sjo-blom says, "Lucile was an outstanding, out-standing, enthusiasitc 4-H member mem-ber who was accepted and appreciated ap-preciated by all of those with whom she worked. Her agricultural agricul-tural and home economics background back-ground will serve her well In representing re-presenting our country." She was a 4-H member for 10 years and held almost all club offices. She attended Dixie Jr. College two years and was second sec-ond vice president of the student stu-dent body. After two years at Brigham Young University she received her BS degree in Home-making Home-making Education. She has also served as secretary and in teaching teach-ing positions in the LDS Church. |
