Show Services Conducted . Thursday For Harry Benson Powell Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed at the Presbyterian Church Thursday for Harry Benson Powell, Pow-ell, 83, of Cedar City. He died i In a Provo hospital of natural causes on Mar. 4. Services were conducted by Rev. Norman Boss. Mrs. Boss provided pro-vided prelude and postlude organ music. Obituary and opening prayer was given by Rev. Boss and he also i -"sented a serl"tural reading read-ing The Sovereignity of God," and presented a message and prayer. Special musical numbers included in-cluded a vocal solo by Christine Chris-tine VVlnterrose, "The Touch ol His Hand On Mine," and a duet, "Hide Thou Me," by Rev. and Mrs. Boss. Dedication of the grave at the Cedar City cemetery was by Rev. Boss. Harry Benson Powell was born Feb. 23, 1880 in Marshall County, 111., a son of Abraham G. Powell and Mary I. Snyder Powell. He married Kate E. Poulson June 5, 1937, at Santa Rosa, Calif. Mr. Powell was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years until his retirement in 1943. In 1955 Mr. and Mrs. Powell Pow-ell moved to Cedar City where they made their home with a stepdaughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Lewis. Mr. Powell was a member of the local lo-cal Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife. Cedar Ce-dar City; a brother. Charles Powell, Pow-ell, Santa Rosa, Calif.; a stepson, William Poulson, Wheatland. Wyo., and Mrs. Clayton (Bernlce) Lewis, Cedar City. |
