Show Lose Public Relations Round Well the Cedar High School did it again. Once a year in the athletic program make it twice if they play Dixie in Cedar City for football the administration admin-istration at the High School can expect an overflow crowd, or at least the largest crowd they will handle the entire season. And as usual once a year make it twice if Cedar and Dixie meet in football in Cedar City the school is not prepared to handle the crowd. Friday night as the Cedar Redmen and the Dixie Flyers clashed in the new high school gymnasium which is capable cap-able of seating up to 3000 people, one entire section, the West balcony was closed. The only bad thine about it being closed was that the people who came to see the basketball game practically sat in each other's laps. Many people stood through most of the game and others left without even bothering to find a seat in the congested three sections of the gigantic gymnasium that was built to accom nodate these special type events. At least it would appear that was the purpose for which they designed the building. Of course some of the patrons for the game didn't realize this situation immediately. They were standing in line at the ticket windows two of four ticket windows in the new facility were open. As we said, a patron wouldn't feel so badly if the facility fa-cility was not able to handle the crowd or if it had not been designed to handle a crowd such as turned out for Friday's game. But the building was designed to accommodate, and it must have been anticipated, or it would not have been included. Granted it was the only time this season that the fourth section seating capacity nearly 760 would have been used, but on the other hand the traditional rivalry ri-valry dictates that it was the most likely time that it would be necessary. .L- I 1 1 .1 - I- ! battle of good public relations. |
