Show Mrs. D. C. Schmutz Attends Women Voters Meet Mrs. D. C. Schmutz, first vice president of the Cedar City League of Women Voters, left Sunday to attend the 21st national nation-al convention of the League of Women Voters in Denver this week. The local delegate will join approximately 1000 other league members to adopt a national na-tional program of work for the next two years, elect national officers, and adopt a budget. There are over 900 leagues in the 48 states, Alaska, Hawaii and the District of Columbia, and most of them will be represented represent-ed at the convention, some by more than one delegate. Leagues throughout the country coun-try have expressed major interest inter-est in the topics of individual liberties li-berties and U. S. trade policies for study and action over the next two-year period. These and ether subjects will be debated, and the decision will be by vote of the delegates. This year will mark the first time the League convention has been held in the West. Mrs. Schmutz will return to Cedar City on Saturday. |
