Show Mrs. Whitney Orton Named A. L. Aux. District Head At a district convention ot the American Legion and Auxiliary units held in Cedar City last Friday Fri-day afternoon and evening, Mrs. Whitney Orton of Parowan was elected as president of the Auxiliary Auxil-iary organization. She will succeed suc-ceed Mrs. Elias Leigh of Cedar City. Mrs. B. K. Farnsworth, department depart-ment president of the auxiliary, i was in attendance at the meet-1 ing and she delivered the principal prin-cipal address to the group. Other Oth-er state and national officers in attendance included Mrs. Idella Batement, St. George, department second vice president, and Mrs. Lona Watson, national executive cemmittee-woman of Cedar City. Mrs. Leigh, district president, presided over the meetings. Other ladies elected to office at the meeting included Mrs. Vel-ma Vel-ma Twitchell, Enterprise, as first vice president; Mrs. Ingra Richards, Rich-ards, Panguitch, second vice president, pres-ident, and Mrs. Edith Hutchings, Hurricane, historian. Mrs. Edith Smith, district second sec-ond vice president, of Milford, talked to the grou on the importance im-portance of the veterans poppy program carried on each year by the Legion Auxiliary. In the evening the ladies reconvened re-convened with the Legionnaires at Hotel El Escalante for a get-'together get-'together and dancing. |
