Show State SCS Officer I Conducts Membership Meeting Robert A. Roun'ly, state farm- er fieldman, headed a discussion before members of the Soil Con-1 servation Service (SCS) and other interested groups, held in Cedar City on Jan. 6, at the SCS committee commit-tee room. Conducting tho meeting was Iron County SCS committeeman J. Leonard Topham. Roundy spent a considerable amount of time explaining, for trw agricultural gathering, the conservation program for 1955. Roundy explained how the farmer farm-er may sign up with the A C P for 1955 and further explained the expiration dates that have previously been announced by the ACP. He encouraged farmers not to sign up for ACP assistance unless they were certain that the practice prac-tice anticipated would be done, or not until 30 days prior to the time he desires to start work under the program. A farmer, to participate in the ACP, must sign up and have prior approval of the practice before the work is started, he pointed out. The practices for Iron County were reviewed by the fieldman. Further discussions on wheat allotment al-lotment and water conservation practices were also carried on. Representatives from the Iron County SCS, community SCS workers from Cedar City, Paro-wan Paro-wan and Beryl, Extension Agent Wallace D. Sjoblom, and representatives repre-sentatives from the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation office were In attendance at the mpeting. Details on deadline and expiration expira-tion dates on sign up for the ACP can be obtained from the SCS office or at the extension office in Cedar City. |
