Show Cedar Softball League To Get Under Way Six teams have submitted rosters ros-ters for the Cedar City Softball Association softball league for the coming season it was an-nounc an-nounc by Morgan Slack, president, presi-dent, today. The six teams which include: two teams from Columbia Iron Mining Co., two from Utah Construction Con-struction Co., and Bradshaw Chevrolet and El Rey Cafe have been undergoing extensive practices prac-tices this past week in an effort to get in shape for the popular summer sport. At a recent meeting of the board held by the Association, a tentative tenta-tive date of June 8 was designated designat-ed to open league play with the league schedule to be played on Monday, Wednesday and Friday Fri-day of each week. Mr. Slack indicated that the league would again be split into two halves and the winners of each half will meet for the Cedar City championship at the end of the season. As always the southern south-ern Utah Softball tournament will be held following the regular league play and outstanding teams from the southern Utah and eastern Nevada area will again vie for the coveted tourney tour-ney crown. Some outstanding ball Is promised prom-ised to fans of the city this year with the six entries all fielding comparatively strong teams from' the standpoint of past perform-1 ances, i |
