Show Jensen Bros, of SLC Submit Low Bid On New BAC Building Bids were opened by the State Building Board in Salt Lake City f Wednesday for the erection of a f new auditorium and library j building at Branch Agricultural ! college. Very satisfactory bids were received, and actual con- . st ruction on the new building ' should get under way before the end of June. The low bidder Wednesday was Jensen Brothers Construction Co. of Salt Lake City, with a base bid of $155,-1 10.00. While the bid must be approved by the U S A C board, which meets in Cedar City Friday, there is but little doubt that the company will be award-1 ed the contract and work started i in the near future. Bids had been opened last year on the building but the lowest of- ter oi ja.uou was more than the funds available so contract was was net. Additional funds were made available after which the plans were changed with several additional features included and a second call for bid made. In addition to the base bid made by the Jensen company, there were two alternate bids amounting to an additional $31,-000, $31,-000, that may be added to the structure. t A total of nine bids were submitted sub-mitted Wednesday ranging from the low bid to a high of $486,100 submitted by Ralph E. Child of Sprlngville. Other bids submitted were as follows: Vincent Peterson Co., Salt Lake City, $482,700.00; Witt Construction company, the firm now building the Northwest elementary ele-mentary building in Cedar City, $165,900.00; Garff, Ryberg and Garff, Salt Lake City, $-163,000.00; Chyrtrylus Construction company, com-pany, $469,700.00; Davis & Butler, Provo, $474,000.00; Frederickson Building company, Salt Lake City, $462,880.00, and Plieve Construction Con-struction company, Salt Lake City, $-165,000.00. |
