Show Plans Underway For Annual Banquet, Dance Plans have been formulated for the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce Com-merce annual New Year's Eve banquet and dance, with the committee in charge preparing to make this the outstanding social event of the season in Cedar City. The banquet and dance is i staged each year by the Chamber l of Commerce as the climax of its year's activities. New officfts, elected by mail, are introduced and old officers give a report of the year's accomplishments. The plan this year is to hold a candlelight dinner with dinner music appropriate to the occasion occa-sion and the season. Nelson Marsden will act as master of ceremonies, and upon the instruction in-struction of the committee will give credit for outstanding community com-munity service, thus giving a resume of the year's activities in the community. Chamber officials offi-cials will give very brief reports. Dr. Reed W. Farnsworth is chairman of the committee in charge of the annual affair, and is assisted by Alex Angelo, Her-schel Her-schel Neeley, Lt. Col. Oliver W. Harris, Glen Yergensen, Mrs. Ila Sherratt, and Mrs. Afton Chris-tensen. Chris-tensen. Graham MacDonald and Miss Bee Roberts, members of the Chamber of Commerce board of directors, are assisting the committee. Unusual table decorations are also being planned for the banquet. ban-quet. Reservations for the banquet must be made in advance Dr. Farnsworth states, and encour- ages everyone who plans to attend at-tend to make reservations as soon as tickets go on sale next week. The admission charge will be $3.50 per plate, which will admit the holder to the dance to be held immediately following follow-ing the banquet. Both banquet and dance will be held at El Escalante hotel. |
