Show LC. Miles Named President So. Utah Teachers Ass'n. . hOZJS C. MILES l . iLorin C. MUes, Principal ot the Cedar City Junior High school, was elected president of the Southern Utah Teachers Association during the past week, in an election conducted con-ducted by mail. The association is oomposd of all teachers in the elementary, Junior Jun-ior high, senior high schools and Junior colleges in the area ot Utah south of Provo. All teachers in this area participated in the balloting which resulted in the election of Mr. Miles to succeed O. A. Reese, Principal of the Richfield high school. The new president was elect- -ed for a tfht year term. The Southern Utah Teachers Association As-sociation was organised under the leadership of Qlen Snow of St Oeorge, now president ot the National Na-tional Education Association, and has developed Into an important influence for education in southern Utah, The association was organised organis-ed to unite the teachers behind programs pro-grams for education in th district in which they serve, and to over come problems that develop from time to time. The association Is not a part of the Utah Education Association, As-sociation, but is not in conflict with the state organization. . |
