Show Probation Officer May Face Charge In Juvenile Case Repercussions' of the Hulse a id Haslam juvenile case in which two children are accused of damaging utility, public and private property to the extent of approximately $3000 resulted In a serious charge against the Juvenile probation officer or Cedar City, according to police officers of-ficers of the city and county. Fred A. La Frentz, whose new home was badly damaged when the two, Juveniles allegedly went to the home after being released by John M. Foster, probation officer, and broke, out most of the windows and did considerable damage with paint, has asked that complaint of assault be filed against Foster. In demanding that the complaint be filed, Mr. La Frentz alleges that ne was assaulted by Foster when he approached the probation officer in connection with the case. La FrenU. who was out of town at the time his home, was damaged, states that upon his return he went to Mr.- Foster's home to talk to him about the case, and alleges that he was struck over the head with a club wielded by Foster. Mrs. La Frentz, who was with her husband when the alleged attack took place, maintains that Fred was knocked from his fc2t and that his eye glasses glass-es were shattered by the blow which landed on his head. Mr. and Mrs. La Frentz went to the police officers to demand that Foster be arrested. However, County Coun-ty Attorney Durham Morris was out of town, and no arrest was made pending an investigation by the attorney. . Mr. Morris returned to the city Tuesday, the alleged attack having taken place Saturday evening, even-ing, and although he has made an investigation no charge has yet been filed against Foster, and no arrest has been made. Police officers and the attorney indicate that some charge will undoubtedly un-doubtedly be filed, but have made no statement as to what the nature of the charge will be. In the meantime, mean-time, the two boys, whose escapades caused all the trouble are awaiting the arrival of the district Juvenile Judge to hear their case. |
