Show Utah Parks Unit Hears Accord With Government Although the terms of the agreement were not made public the Utah Parks Company and the Interior department have come to an almost complete understanding understand-ing as to terms on which the P?rks company will continue to operate concessions in the southern south-ern Utah parks after the present contract expires at the end of the year. The agreement was reached only after several weeks of negotiations, that often reached reach-ed a somewhat bitter stage. George F. Ashby, president of Union Pacific in company with officials of the parks company met with Interior department officials in the final conference In Omaha, Nebraska, and both parties came to a complete accord ac-cord except on one single item which is largely technical. This one item was passed over temporarily tem-porarily to be decided by Assistant Assist-ant Secretary of the Interior, C. Girard Davidson. Mr. Ashby, however, Insisted that the new contract, when approved, ap-proved, be comprehensive, leaving leav-ing nothing for future determination determin-ation by the Interior department. If approved by the Union Pacific Paci-fic Board of Directors, the disputed dis-puted item will be worked out to the satisfaction of both Mr. Ashby Ash-by and the Interior department before the railroad will agree to continue operations of the parks concessions. |
