Show Frank Gillespie is Called By Death Funeral services for Frank Gil-lispie, Gil-lispie, 65, Cedar City, were held Tuesday, August 17, In the Cedar Fourth ward LDS church at 2 p. m. Mr. GUlispie had lived in Cedar Ce-dar City for the past 23 years. He died Thursday, August 12, following fol-lowing a long illness. Born in Lander, Wyoming February Feb-ruary 16, 1883, a son of Robert and Phoebe Hickman Gilliopie, he spent his youth in Colorado until he moved to Cedar City in 1925. He married Blanch Lemmon on March 25, 1906, in Astec, New Mexico. He was a machinist most of his life, although at times he was engaged in farming. Surviving are his widow, three sons, Charles, Alvin and Joe, all of Cedar City; four daughters, Mrs. Lola Smith and Mrs. Opal Condie, both of Cedar City; Mrs. Lois Nielson, New Harmony, and Mrs. June Nelson, Las Vegas, Nevada; Ne-vada; 14 grandchildren, his mother, Red Mesa, Colorado; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Sawyer, Mrs. Dottie Barnum, and Mrs. Lula Stalworthy, all of Red Mesa, and Mrs. Sadie Walker, Blending, Blend-ing, Utah; and two brothers, William, Wil-liam, Red Mesa, and George Lincoln, Lin-coln, San Pedro, California. With Bishop Leo Larson officiating, offi-ciating, final rites honoring Mr. GUlispie were held Tuesday. The opening prayer was offered by David W. Gibson. Musical numbers num-bers included a solo, "Lay My Head Beneath The Rose", by Myles Walker, accompanied by Mrs. Beth Leigh; solo, "In The Garden", by Clive Hartman, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Leigh, and a quartet composed of Esther Jones, Golda Iverson, Reed Roberts Ro-berts and William Condie, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Willam Condie, Con-die, singing "Oh, My Father". Speakers were I. E. Riddle and Samuel F. Leigh. The benediction was offered by William R. Palmer Pal-mer and dedication, S. F, Leigh. |
