Show County Retains '47 Tax Levy The Board 6f Iron County Commissioners, Com-missioners, in meeting last week, set the 1918 county tax levy at 36 mills the same as the levy last year. However, with an as-sesod as-sesod valuation in the county of $13,271,030, approximately two million dollars higher than last year, the levy will yield greater revenue this year. The 36 mills is divided as follows: State uniform school levy, 7 mills; State school equalization equal-ization levy, 8.9 mills; Iron County Coun-ty School District, 12.8 mills, and county general fund, 7.3 mills. With the Cedar City levy set at 26.3 mills, .3 of a mill higher than last year, the levy against all property within the Cedar City limits will be 62.3 mills. The Parowan City Jev, is set at 16 mills, making a total levy on property In that city of 52 mills. It is expected that the Paragonah Para-gonah and Kanarra Town levies will remain at 4 mills, or a total of 40 mills on property in those communities. |
