Show I City Council Okehs School Board Expansion Plans Members of the City Council gave unqualified approval of the Board of Education's plan for school development, when they met with the board members and the directoi of community planning plan-ning George II. Smeaih, in spe. cial meeting Wednesday night. Superintendent Ianthus Wright outlined a program of school expansion ex-pansion that calls for the erection erec-tion of three elementary school buildings in various parts of Cedar Ce-dar City, and the concentration of Junior high and high school activities on the present school campus. Following the report and detailed de-tailed discussion the councilman approved the development pro-gram pro-gram and agreed to do every, thing possible to develop community com-munity recreation areas in connection con-nection with the new school building. This plan would combine com-bine school and city recreation development and provide for full utilization of such properties. The construction of the three schools is a long-range program, with a school to serve the East side of the city to be provided first and the others to follow as rapidly as poslble. A thorough study of probable sites Is now being made by the school board and city council. M M. .. |
