Show Bids Opened on Road Project Bids for two road construction Jobs in Washington county were opened at the State Capitol Tuesday, Tues-day, one a major construction project on highway 91, where the road over the Black Ridge will be re routed. W. W. Clyde of Sprlngville was low bidder on the Black Ridge Job and will undoubtedly receive the contract. The bid was for $455,025 for construction of 3.6 miles of road from Pintura to Ash Creek. The job includes much heavy construction, widening of the Ash Creek bridge and surfacing sur-facing of the road with a 3-inch bituminous mix. The contract Is for only a portion por-tion of the Black ridge project and the completion of the Job is pending a final decision on whe-ther whe-ther or not a reservoir dam Is to be constructed at Ash Creek. If the reservoir oroiect is undortnir. en the dam will be used as a roadway across Ash Creek, but if the reservoir, project falls to materialize, or the dam Is not determined as safe as a roadway, a bridge must be built. State road officials state that a decision on this question must be reached soon, In order that' bids on the remainder of the road, from Ash Creek to Dry Creek, may be called for. Whiting and Haymond of Sprlngville, were low bidders on the surfacing of 9 miles of road between Central and Veyo In Washington county.
