Show Superintendent Names Teachers For Iron County School District With the opening of school in Iron county only about three weeks away Superintendent Ian-thus Ian-thus Wright announces that he has seven teaching vacancies in the district, "Some of them," he stated, "will be extremely difficult diffi-cult to fill." Three of the seven vacancies are in the so-called Desert schools, Lund, Modena and Newcastle, New-castle, and because of the fact that one teacher is forced to handle han-dle several grades in these schools it has always been difficult diffi-cult to fill the positions. The distances dis-tances are too great to transport the children to other schools, thus creating a perplexing problem year after year. Three of the other vacancies are in the two high schools of the county. A librarian is needed at the Cedar City high, and vacancies va-cancies in the music and mechanic mecha-nic arts departments of the Parowan Paro-wan high school have not yet been filled. There is a possibility that Doris W. Smith, who had signed to teach in the Cedar elementary ele-mentary school, may be transferred trans-ferred to the Parowan high music mu-sic teaching position. If so it will leave one vacancy in the Cedar elementary school, and one more teacher is needed for the Paro wan elementary. Four new teachers have been added to the Cedar high school faculty, Including Dawn Andrus, Art; Helen Clegg, English and French; Jordan L. Larson, English, Eng-lish, and Jean Annette Mcintosh, girls physical education. In addition, addi-tion, Marie Krueger, who has spent several years in the school, but did not teach last year, will return as home making instructor, instruct-or, it is announced. Howard Dalley has been added to the Parowan high faculty, where he will teach business subjects, sub-jects, and Ray Watters has been employed as coach and physical education instructor.
