Show - Tropic Topics - Ella Adair The John Niemann family enjoyed a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Mabry Word from Mississippi for a week. The Norman Littlefields received word that their son, Lanny Lit-tlefield, Lit-tlefield, has been hired as the new football coach for the College of Eastern Utah. Lanny spent his childhood in Tropic. For the past two years he has been football coach at Rancho High School in Las Vegas. He spent several years coaching high school and college in Louisiana before returning to Utah. Flora LeFevre received word of the birth of a new great-grandson, born to Mr. and Mrs. Cornell Willis. Several of the senior citizens enjoyed a film on Hawaii Thursday evening. Douglas, Vickie and Michael Ahlstrom were in Salt Lake City for medical care. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Zohner were overnight visitors with the Norman Littlefields. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Winteh have returned home from an extended stay in St. George. The E. R. ghakespears enjoyed visits from daughters, Arvonne Button, Christy Gardner, grandson Kenneth Shakespear, and the Danny Shakespear family. Workers have started to lay pipe for the new sprinkling system in town. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Mangum were in Tropic Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson were in Provo. Jan Fulmer received his Eagle badge in a special court of honor Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jolley are in Provo for Earl to have a medical checkup. Speakers in Sacrament meeting Sunday were Chris Baugh and Tori Pollock, youth speakers, and Cheri Feltner and Clare Ramsay. Charlotte Littlefield was released as compassionate service leader in Relief Society, Glenna Pollock will take her place. Trevor Pollock was ordained a Priest. Paul Mangum was in St. George visiting his mother, LuElla Mangum. Marian Shakespear is spending a few days in Cedar City at son, Val Shakespear's home. Alan Munson and John Munson visited the Silas Munsons. Leola Ott enjoyed a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Albert Davis. Greg Richards, Paula Richards, and Alaska Richards are visiting in Tropic. The Tropic Explorers and varsity scouts enjoyed a back pack trip for three days in the lower country. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Syrett attended at-tended the wedding of their son, David Jensen and Debbie Green in the Jordan River LDS Temple March 19. Bryce Syrett has received an LDS mission call to the Baton Rouge, La. mission. |
