Show People needed KAYSVBLLE Kaysville is a great place to live and do business ' because of the cooperative attitude of its citizens. The Kaysville Chamber of Commerce hopes to build on this spirit of cooperation ! by inviting its members to serve on committees that have been organized organiz-ed to help make the chamber and the city a better place. The eight committees that have been organized include public relations, rela-tions, economic development, education, edu-cation, community relations, membership, finance and budget, government relations and executive. ex-ecutive. Karon Tanner is the chairman for the community development committee. com-mittee. The purpose of this group is to create a healthy and diverse community. This group will initiate programs that improve public awareness and give support to the arts and community development programs which will enhance the quality of life. This can be done through the development de-velopment of promotional campaigns cam-paigns to develop public awareness of community businesses and industry, in-dustry, develop a calendar of community com-munity activities such as sports events, art and cultural functions, maintain and promote tourist information in-formation and develop a closer relationship rela-tionship among the business and professional establishments in the community. The membership committee, chaired by Mike Hadley, hopes to increase the total business firm membership by ten percent during 1991. The specific objectives of this committee are to recruit and maintain main-tain contact with chamber members, develop a marketable program to recruit and retain members and encourage en-courage home business owners to participate and become involved with the Chamber of Commerce. The government relations committee com-mittee has been organized to link the business community with all levels of government. Donna Merry, chairman, hopes the chamber will take an active role in the formation and implementation of legislation representing the business busi-ness community's interest. This can be accomplished by holding meetings with elected officials from Kaysville and Davis County and chamber board and committee members. The finance and budget committee, com-mittee, chaired by Donna Merry, and the executive committee, chaired jointly by Sharon Booth and Mark Altom, deal with the administration ad-ministration and day-by-day workings work-ings of the chamber.
