Show Area athletes excel in Idaho's Simplot games POCATELLO, Idaho While Bountiful High senior Brandon Wilding was setting a new Simplot Games record in the 1600 meters last Saturday (see Tuesday's Clipper for details), several other local tracksters were also getting the season off to a fast start with great performances. Bountiful's Brandon Stock placed third in the 55 meter dash, an event not run in outdoor track. And several Viewmont students were also on the medal stand in Pocatello. Among them was Taylor Judd, who won the high jump with a leap of 6-8, and Mike Ewing, third place finisher in the shot put. Scott Keate was fifth in the 800 meters, and Jeff Rast took sixth in the 400 meters. Viewmont's 4 X 400 meter relay team of Jeff Rast, Ashley Pettey, Robert Holman and Brent Peterson also won first place medals. |
