The letter is submitted herewith. here-with. The Springville Herald Gentemen : In regards to your article concerning the fifteen SHS students stu-dents qualifying for college English credit, (14 August) I would first like to congratulate Mrs. Kauffman and the students stu-dents for their achievement, but I must inform you your facts establishing their "record" "rec-ord" are in accurate. Last year my class under Mr. John M. Hafen, qualified, as I remember, remem-ber, 18 students for college English credit, an achievement which unfortunately went pretty pret-ty well unnoticed. Your article stated, "This is the highest number ever to qualify at the school during a year." This year's class may have qualified a higher percentage, but I believe be-lieve the honor you mentioned must go to us. Myself and my fellows extend our deepest thanks to Mr. Hafen who gave Springville High the excellent English program it has today. Sincerely H. Michael Clyde 475 Water Street, Fitchburg, Mass.
